In case you have noticed the white markings on the streets of Fieldwood…
This writer was informed that a homeowner was told by the guy marking the road that a permit was pulled to install fiber optic technology. The fiber optic company’s name is Glo Fiber and they will be notifying residents with a flyer in a couple of weeks.
“Robert Bragg, Utility Supervisor DelDot, said it’s a noninvasive install”, meaning they try to snake the cable underground as much as they can. Keep in mind that accidents still can happen with this type of install so hopefully current utilities will not be impacted. This writer knows of at least one accident over at Midway Estates last year, where they have already installed Glo Fiber, where a water line was hit in a homeowners driveway and the water line and driveway had to be repaired. Fortunately, we are on well water and our wells are clear of the white lines. Sewer lines have already been marked in green as well.
I have included a link to Glo Fiber’s homepage for more information on the services they offer.

The same homeowner provided these contact numbers;
Robert Bragg, Deldot 302-542-9678
Julio Pena, Glo Fiber Project Mgr 443-299-2818
Duane Koons, Glo Fiber Supervisor 717-304-5494
Fingers crossed disruptions are kept to a minimum.
